Shifah Musisi is a Ugandan singer, songwriter and fashion designer. Shifah Musisi was born in the early 90s in Kapeeka, a village located in the outskirts of Luwero town in Uganda. She was inspired to start singing at a young age after falling in love with artists like Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Sade.
Shifah Musisi released her first single, “Sanyu lyange” 2015 off her first studio album titled “Olugendo”. The Olugendo album was well received by music critics and most of the songs on the album still enjoy massive airplay. The album was uploaded to digital stores in July 2016 and is currently available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play music, YouTube music and many others.
Spurred on by the success of the Olugendo album, Shifah Musisi embarked on a European tour in 2016 that saw her perform at numerous festivals and concerts in Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Portugal. She was a major performer at the famous Andancas festival that happens annually in Castelo De Vide, Portugal.
Upon her return from the European tour, Shifah Musisi hit the studio to record her second album “Dark & Happy times” with renowned producer Michael Mugisha aka Fingaz. Set to be fully released in 2018, the 10-track album features songs like “Emirembe”, “Kusema” and “Africa” among others. The first three singles off the album “Emirembe”, “Ebilowoozo” and “Kusema” have already been released and well received.
Shifah Musisi’s music is a fusion of contemporary, RnB and afro-soul genres majorly inspired by real life experiences and the environment around her. She is powerful stage performer and her guitar playing skills and stage energy always leave her fans wanting more.
Shifah Musisi was among the Ugandan artistes chosen to showcase at the 7th edition of DOADOA – East African Performing Arts Market 2018. She is also slated to perform at the upcoming Bayimba International Festival of the Arts in Kampala happening from 2-5th August 2018 and at the inaugural Ongala Music Festival in Dar es Salaam happening between 22-25th August 2018. Shifah Musisi has also performed at major events including the 17th edition of Blankets and wine, akadope, Toxic benefit concert among others.
With two complete studio albums, Shifah Musisi continues to make more and more people fall in love with her afro-soul music.
